Purple Flowering Perennial Bush. Long Purple Flowers

Hi, I'm about to lay some landscape fabric and re-mulch my parents front garden but before I do I wanted to know if this plant is in its correct location. My mother doesn't remember the name of it but it was recently planted. It has long flower stalks? at the top that are purple and seem to attract bees. It's planted on the NE side of the house and it gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Here are some pictures. Thanks

It reminds me of Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana). Not sure though.

Thanks for the replies lazy, mammie, and rox. I think it might be a Veronica of some sort after googling the other plants. I'm still not 100% sure on that though. Here is a up close leaf shot if it helps to confirm it is in fact a sort of Veronica plant.

Not Liatris or Physostagia.
It's a Veronica.

Maybe Veronica spicata, 'Sunny Border Blue' ?

Here is a link that might be useful: Veronica spicata

Thank you Pit and Tulsa. It's definitely a Veronica. Sunny Border Blue is exactly it. Thanks again.
