Identifying a bush/small tree

Hi all,

I'm currently undertaking a little project to identify all major species of tree/bush in our summerhouse garden. I've got most covered, but I'm really not too sure about this one.

Sadly I can't provide any more detail about the plant than this picture really. The leaves are approximately 8-9cm/3 1/2-4in long. The underside has a defined white central vein, but the overall colour is only very slightly lighter than the top of the leaf. There's no visible fruit, seed or flower at present.

From my research, it looks a little like an Amelanchier in terms of its leaves, but I could be (most likely) utterly wrong!

Does anybody have any idea what it might be? I'm located in Denmark.

Thanks for your time!

I think you may have nailed it, nel5397! The leaves are a great match to what I can see on google.

I've added another picture of the same plant. In the top left you can just about see the stems in the shade, which also seems to match your suggestion.

Brilliant, thank you so much.
