i cant find a leaf to focus on ...

F it might be.. but thats not how i would expect it to look.. this time of year... it should have a lot more 6 foot spikes shooting out.. every which way .... unless they dont grow like that in the PNW ...

any chance at a better leaf pic???

Well, not sweet box; I just checked and mine has alternate leaves. The above plant does have a lot of weevil leaf notching although this would not affect bloom or overall growth.

It does look like Forsythia. Leave the branches alone and watch whether they will bloom next spring.

Thanks! It might not bloom since it's in heavy shade, but will watch out for it.

Heavy shade didn't stop the forsythia left by the Previous Owners.
