Okay so here is what happened. I was at a local garden today. On my way out, I noticed a plant. It was pretty tall and one single stalk in the center. I wish I had paid more attention to detail. I then noticed 2 very pale yellow trumpet or tubular type flowers. Then I noticed some ripe seed pods clinging. I was in a big hurry and grabbed a few of them to bring home. Once I got here, I broke open the capsules. Inside I find the tiniest seeds, almost poppy like. The seed pod was about the size of an eraser on the end of a pencil. Once broken open, the pods had a not so nice smell. Now I am feeling some tingling sensation in my fingers and arms. Any clue what this flower might be with these few details?

It's difficult to say what it is. Have you looked for " yellow tubular flowers" on line? Does it look anything like Nicotiana glauca?
Here is a link that might be useful: Nicotiana glauca

I have looked. The closest things that I can find are the nicotiana and foxgloves. Neither look exact as the flower of the plant was almost a chartreuse colored yellow. I lived by the way. I had a amazing high and slept REALLY well lol don't think I will be touching that again tho!

I would be surprised to see any Digitalis flowering at this time of year in Georgia. Perhaps it's Nicotiana langsdorffii which has chartreuse flowers.

Perhaps a type of Aureolaria; I saw them blooming in north Georgia this weekend.

Hey Carol, that is the closets that I have seen. Any idea what the seeds look like on this plant? Are they toxic?

Anyone any idea what the seeds look like on this plant Nicotiana langsdorffii? Are they toxic, do they smell badly?

| I've grown a couple of Nicotiana from seeds but not langsdorffii. All the seeds were tiny....almost like mullein (V. thapsus) seeds, if you know how tiny they are. Some tobacco plants that I've seen are resinous, almost what you might call sticky to the touch. The most resinous I've seen was a Native American variety which I believe a variety of Nicotiana rustica. It also has yellow flowers and is supposed to be a very potent tobacco. People working harvesting and processing tobacco by hand do get nicotine through their skin and it will effect them. I've heard about it from someone who is from a tobacco growing region in the South. He told about its effects and how sick people get after their first day in the fields harvesting. I've harvested many herbs, including toxic ones and I learned the hard way that you need to take care what you're touching since some active ingredients can be absorbed through the skin.
