Vining plant with fuzzy berries

Posted by spurs2150 Texas (My Page) on

Found this vine sprawling horizontally across a bush in my front yard, anso vining up a window. It has fruit about 2 inches in diameter, the green ones pictured here are covered with a fuzzy nareial, which falls off when they turn red, as there are also red ones on the vine. Looks like a bird picked off the top of one of the red fruit, and either they are hollow, or were hollowed out by the bird. I live in San Antonio, TX, and have never seen this plant before. Does anyone have any idea what it is?

So sorry for the typos. That should read fuzzy material :-)

Passiflora foetida? The flowers should be distinctive if that is it.

I don't see any flowers on the vine.

After looking it up, it looks like it but the leaves are more pointed.I'll go take a closer look at it tomorrow. It was very strange because it appeared out of nowhere. thanks for the reply.

Leaves should have a distinctive smell. Flowers only last a day so keep an eye out for buds.

Ditto; Passiflora foetida, they show up here in Austin
probably "planted" by the birds who eat the fruit.
