I found this widely branched, 5 inch tall plant today on a sunny patch of disturbed soil. It appeared to be smooth, with filiform leaves and branched leaflets as shown in the photos. Flowers were in cymes (mostly 5-6 each) on what looked like a bladder, which was sometimes round, sometimes flattened, and typically had 10 ribs. The white flowers each had 5 petals and (I think) 3 stamens. Each flower was no larger than the head of a pin. I thought this was probably in the Caryophyllaceae family, and first checked Silene options. When that didnt produce a match, I tried to run the family key; but, was missing some critical detail. It seems that those bladder and leaf characteristics should be definitive, so am curious to see if you can determine species or genus.

Try Apiaceae.

Thanks nonmember. I ran the family key and think my plant may be one of the Ptilimnium species. I'm leaning toward P. costatum, but am still checking resources. Appreciate the help!
