Name That Plant!

Can you ID this plant?

Hi,

Is this plant familiar to anyone? I have been wondering about its name since it first appeared in my garden.

Any suggestions welcome.

is the plant in south africa??? .. might help to know such ..

as well as a scale on a macro pic like this ...

give us an idea of size of a leaf ...

Country: South Africa

I have added another picture, with 30cm ruler alongside. It is reversed because of brand information on face.

The leaves vary in length, 5-25mm.

Your plant looks so familiar to me, I feel as though I have seen it before--but I cannot quite grasp the name. Do you think it could be a melaleuca? There are so many that I would be guessing at the species, but some have that mixed leaf arrangement.

Reminds me of olive...but that can't be right.

Thank you for the feedback. There are similarities to both, especially the shape of the leaves. The arrangement does appear to be different.
