Can someone identify this purple flower for me please?

it was seen in a garden by Loch Ness (in Scotland) I dont know if thats of any help to anyone but its all I can really tell you about it other than what you can see from the picture. Thank you in advance.

That particular one is one of the Lace Cap Hydrangeas. If you want to grow them they are widely available in many varieties. But be warned. In many parts of the UK the flowers will not be blue like that but a muddy pink. You need acid soil to get that colour.
