What's this tree?

This tree has small leaves and clusters of tiny green berries. Does anyone know? We're in Dallas, zone 7b/8a, depending on exactly where the metroplex you are.

Looks like an Ilex but I can't help you with the species. I'm assuming the berries don't stay green.

Persea borbonia.

Obviously, I am unfamiliar with the vast majority of N American trees and I do not know Persea borbonia. But I have looked it up and don't see the resemblance. P borbonia is said to have pale green leaf reverses and the OP's leaves are the same green both sides as far as I can see. I don't see rusty brown hairs on the buds nor on the twigs. Nor are the leaves of P b toothed as far as I can tell. The bark of the trunk appears smooth. The fruit appear to be unstalked. Perhaps someone else can contribute a view?

Perhaps the OP could crush a leaf and tell us if it has a sweet aroma?

Here is a link that might be useful: Persea borbonia

Looks like Ilex vomitoria, to me. Assuming that the berries will turn red before too long.

Ilex vomitoria for certain.
