Bronze leafed perennial with small purple flowers on spikes

My husband and I bought our house in May. This plant seems to have been planted in one bed deliberately (ie it isn't anywhere else in the somewhat neglected garden). I'm not all that keen on it based on looks, but I'm not sure what it is. Is it worth saving and possibly moving to another location? I really want to clean out this bed and plant some of my favourite perennials instead.

I don't think it emerged from dormancy until June or so. It has bronze leaves when they're new and although they green up, they retain some of their bronze tinge. The flowers are tiny lavender flowers on those spikes.

It's in a bed with Tradescantia and what I'm pretty sure is Chlorophytum comosum (although I thought Myrtle Beach was too cold for spider plant).

Thank you!

Apologies. Apparently I didn't upload the photo.

It's Perilla frutescens. It will self sow abundantly.

Many thanks. I'm already battling invasions from mimosa, liriope and nutsedge. This one will be heading to the compost pile and the Walker's Low catmint I have will take its place.

If I'm going to have a representative of the mint family, I'll make it one I like.
