It's sweet corn/maize. Do you have a bird feeder/rabbit hutch or something in the garden?

Thanks for that, yes i do feed the birds there and i often give them my leftover fishing bait which happens to be Pigeon conditioner that has Maize in it.

Lol Ken, you know how to push my buttons.
As a landscape contractor, I did a lot of garden makeovers which entailed removing plastic and landscape fabric. One job had three layers. It didn't work the first time so they put another layer down and when that failed, they put a third layer down. Ground up bark mulch between each layer, of course. What a mess to remove. Gravel mulch is even more difficult to pick up off plastic. Looks easy. Try it.
I'll leave it at that. I don't want to get too wound up this morning. ;-)
