Hypericum androsaemum 'Gladys Brabazon'. Ornamental.

Hypericum it is! Thanks so much. The florist was really not inclined to tell me what each plant was, and I was so curious.

Penguu, Gladys is a little promiscuous in a Z8 at least, I bought one with much white to the foliage many years ago and now neighbors on 3 sides are growing it/her too...

The leaf color can be variable, easy enough to identify and leave any seedlings you think will be prettiest, discard the others. Or give her a haircut when the berries turn dark for less self sowing.

You know, I was so certain I *would* recognize a hypericum. And I was staring long and hard at this bucket of red berries thinking the name would come to me...

Oh well, shows how much work I still have to put in to get good at recognizing things!

Not all Hypericums produce berries. I am sure you would have got it if it had been in flower.

H. androsaemum has formed spontaneous patches in wooded parts of some Seattle area parks.
