Bushy plant id needed

This plant is in the yard along the driveway. It comes back every year. It's already a small thicket of bushiness, spanning 5 feet long by 3 feet wide. I've just made my acquaintance with this plant so I don't know if it gets flowers. Any thoughts? thx!!

Probably a Celastrus.

I agree with bboy that it looks like bittersweet, a vine that around here is invasive if it's the more common Asian variety. Birds eat the seed and the seed survives their digestive system and gets deposited wherever the bird flies to. If it were growing along my drive, I would get rid of it ASAP since there are areas around here where it is pulling down trees from the weight of the vines.
