| Thank you very much. I never would have figured it out myself. It lacks the white sap of the other spurge weeds. I think my plant is Acalypha ostryaefolia according to my Steyermark book, but I would not have recognized it from the drawing of a flattened specimen. I am using a magnifying glass to confirm the details. It is interesting that this plant may be somewhat beneficial near corn. Someone else thought it was a good place holder weed easy to pull up and less offencive than others than could be in a spot. Maybe I won't feel so guilty about all the weeds in my garden. |
