| I pulled this leaf off a plant poking through a fence in downtown Bristol, UK, while on a business trip. This photo was taken 3 days later, and it shows no signs of wilting yet. Pretty firm, almost leathery, and the veins on the back look a bit like ribs. It looks like it should have 5 leaves.
Wish I'd gotten a shot of the plant itself, but too late for that now. Anyone have any ideas? |

| Choisya ternata "Aztec pearl" |

| Great, thanks! |
|
| Yes. I live 9 miles from Bristol. Aztec Pearl is a common shrub in UK gardens. Would be easily available in Belgium I should think. |
|
| I'll look around for it, then. Like the color, and the distinctive shape of its leaves. I live in a small studio, however. Do you know if it can be kept as a houseplant, or does it require its winter dormancy? |
|
| Might be possible in a very bright cool room, like in a conservatory or sun room. Not a cultivar of C. ternata, but rather a hybrid C. x dewitteana. |
|
| Jwdb - I've never seen it used as a house plant but that doesn't mean you can't try. But it is potentially a pretty large, fairly hardy shrub. It's evergreen and produces fragrant white flowers. Probably propagated by the million in the Netherlands. |
Here is a link that might be useful: Aztec Pearl

| Ok, thank you both for the info. I'll give it a shot if I find it in a nursery here, and see how successful I am in keeping it small. Like you say, always worth a try. |

| Hah, true, good catch. :) Maybe I can get a cutting from them next spring. |
