| sweet pea has tendrils with non-twining stems, so from the look of the second picture, i don't think it's a sweet pea. possibility a hyacinth bean as costaricafinca suggests, but the flowers don't quite look like one from a hyacinth bean. |
| Do you have a picture of the leaves? |
| Lathyrus grandiflorus? (No scent) |
| Not a Lathyrus at all I think. As Vinh says sweet peas (Lathyrus) climb by tendrils, not by twining. How big is that flower head? And I'd echo the request for a picture of the leaves. I'm wondering if it's Apios americana, a plant I've never seen myself. The link is to a flora of the St Lawrence River Valley |
Here is a link that might be useful: Apios americana.
| Yes I was thinking Apios americana as well, but the given flower clusters were pretty small. |

| It's probably Apios americana..The flowers are the same, and I think I remember those leaves.. |
| Wanted to see the leaves before I said Apios but that appears to be the consensus. |
