vine that looks like mimosa

I can tell you what it is not, but I can't find what it is.

It is not sensitive plant as the leaves don't close when touched, but that is what it most resembles. It has long brown seed pods and doesn't seem to flower.

It is not puncture vine.

It is the dickens to get rid of. Even after a heavy rain, I can't pull it up. Sensitive vine is easy to pull up.

if it has pods it flowers. a flower is the sexual organ of a plant...the pod is an ovary, the seeds are ova (eggs)

per your description of compound leaves and pods its most likely a member of the legume (pea) family.
