thank carol, i think it is a araujia sericifera. do you know if the fruit is edible by any chance? a woman picking the furits told me that it is edible once boiled w/ salt & pepper, but most (english) references on the net consider it to be a noxious weed.

I would more likely think it's toxic, not edible. It's a type of asclepias (milkweed).

I certainly wouldn't eat it. You can search on line about toxicity, etc.

karyn, interestingly, milkweed is edible (if cooked properly and picked at the right time).

it's definitely an interesting looking plant, and most certainly deserves more study than the simply eradication due to its weedy status.
