Name That Plant!

Unknown Tree with Fern-Like Leaves

I ask for your help identifying this mystery tree. We have lived here for 3 years and it has NEVER bloomed. It has fern-like leaves in an opposite leaf pattern and light-colored almost white, smooth bark. I live in Southern California in Hardiness Zone 9b (Palm Springs, CA) so this tree is able to withstand high heat, high wind, and almost no water. Thank you!

Additional image. This image gives you an idea of the size of the tree and also just how well it is able to withstand wind. We sometimes get over 100 mph winds and the tree has bent in its growth to withstand it.

After searching across the internet, I believe it to be a young jacaranda tree which when grown from seed can take up to 15 years to bloom. I guess I'll have to wait awhile before confirming this to be true.

Yes, it is Jacaranda mimosifolia.
