Name That Plant!

What is this pod?

I was at the beach with my family and we found a bunch of pods like that, some where big and others looked like that, we are in the Jamestown area. We think it could be aloe, the seeds inside are sticky and it's kind of like a jelly almost. Please help thank you in advance :)

It might be helpful if you give us more information about where you found the pod. Where is Jamestown? Is that where the pod was? What state. Were the pods literally ON the beach, or just near it? Were there trees overhead? Also, more pictures might be helpful.
