Stalks with plum-like leaves?

I have a question about a plant in the Pacific Northwest. I found this plant growing next to a rosemary bush in the garden we just began renting, and I want to know if it's something I should keep or not (our rental agent doesn't know much about anything back here, but is giving us free reign as far as plants go). When it was smaller I thought it might have been a blueberry or something similar, as it looks like someone went to the trouble of putting a lot of peat moss in the soil surrounding it, but it doesn't look anything like one and it's not flowering now that it's larger, so I have no ideas! There's another one growing in the back of the yard, as well. Help me, gardenweb-kinobi, you're my only hope! Picture is attached, but I have more if this one doesn't work (I've never uploaded a photo here). If it's nothing useful, I'll likely pull it out, rebalance the soil, and put in a blueberry bush. Thanks!

Liable to be an orchard plum sucker. These are frequent.
