What is this tree/plant with red berries???

Hello, I'm Engeddie. (This is my first post ever).

I was wondering if anyone knew what plant this was. It looks like a small tree, and was growing in a shady area by a stream in a park. The leaves are toothless and opposite. The berries are very shiny and seem to always be in a cluster of four right in the middle of the stem area. My main question is what is its name...and is it edible? (Don't worry, I won't eat it yet! LOL) I crushed some of the berries and they are more orange and gooey then, and they smell JUST like raw pumpkin, and have small seeds that look a lot like bell pepper seeds.

Probably Lonicera maackii or one of the other shrubby honeysuckles.

Thank you! I'm pretty sure that is what it is, after looking online for more pictures.

The placement of the berries indicates honeysuckle, the big pointed leaf Amur honeysuckle. People ask frequently here about shrubby honeysuckles, usually weedy species of foreign origin.

Considered invasive here. Has a hollow stem. In Wichita they have been fighting the spread in local parks. I'm not a registered ecofreak but this one has been a PITA in parks and arboretums.
