| Hi everyone,
A friend asked me to help her identify this plant but I am having trouble doing so. She lives in south New Jersey, near Cherry Hill. It looks like a vine with sweet potatoes hanging from it but....I guess as they age they split open to reveal what's in the picture. Kind of looks like a pine cone. Mind you....I have not seen this thing in person. I'd appreciate any help you can offer, thanks! |

| Akebia quinata. They're quite tasty though they do have the overall caterpillar look and feel. |

| Thanks to both of you. That is certainly what it is. My friend was away the whole summer so did not get to see the flowering season. I'm sure she'll be interested to know that it's edible. I'll DARE her....LOL Thanks again! |

| They are actually quite tasty......if you can get away from that textural thing. Somewhat similar to tapioca, which is not my cup of tea. |
