Looks like Milkweed but all of mine are long passed the flowering stage. I now have the pods opening.

If you break a stem, does it "bleed" white?

The pic was taken the day I posted. Appreciate the suggestion, TYVM! It's definitely not an Asclepias.

Are you growing the milkweed for the butterflies?

You probably know, but in case not, the white sap has latex. Hopefully you are not one of the unfortunate few who can get a rash like poison ivy from that.

Milkweeds normally have opposite leaves. The plant in the photo shows alternate which is a trait for Pluchea.

I am growing them for the butterflies. I even tolerate some of the runners though my daylily bed. (-:

I try to remember to place it when I set a message. I tried to enter it in my profile but when I hit submit, it reports that my password does not match or is invalid. Since I can log in and the web site recognizes me, and I am such a klutz with passwords, I am not going to tamper with the setting.
