 o
What is this bush - tree?

Hi
Can you help me identify this tree, bush or whatever it is?

Also, how should it be trimmed? I think there are too many limbs and there are dead leaves at the tops (kind of like the way palm tree limbs brown out and hang down after a season).

Would appreciate any advice.

Thank!

Yucca guatemalensis, though it has an identity crisis.

Here is a link that might be useful: Synonym:Yucca elephantipes Synonym:Yucca gigantea

Thanks saltcedar for the ID.

Do you know if I can jut top it or cut it back? Can I remove whole limbs at the base?

It's not especially drought tolerant for a Yucca so extra
water may be in order. You can remove stems at will
but be prepared for lots of stem sprouts and possibly
suckers around the roots. Just remove the browned
leaves if you can add the water it's lacking.
