There's some good info at that link, Bossy, but whoever wrote the article is apparently confused.

"All new growth is from the crown of the plant, so don't prune it back or you'll kill it."

"Easy to propagate by stem cuttings or root division."

After having these plants for about 30 years, I have tons of them from pruning/propagating. Moving your plant to a regular pot with a hole in the bottom (so excess moisture can escape) should help yours be more healthy. If you have questions, the house plant or Aroid forums would be able to help.

Im a spider plant queen but anything else... nope :) lol So, purpleinopp... since this will be my first time with this kind of plant, im a little scared to propagate this plant. can u explain in more detail how to do it? Ide love to eventually have a few of these around the house. i added a close up for you to see. and anyone elses advice is also appreciated!

also, i would appreciate it if someone could add a link or two for the care of this plant. im getting mixed reviews about trimming, some say yes to trim the leaves, some say no, ugh. im yet to find a duplicate picture of this plant. most that ive seen on google have different stems.

The discussion here has advice. Feel free to start a new one if you don't find the answers you seek in that one. Propagating is a simple as cutting/snapping off a stem and sticking it back in the pot (or another pot.) You can see various pics of the same plant here.
