Help with identifying flower/shrub

Posted by sheribe TX (My Page) on

I saw this flower on a shrub at the Houston Zoo and have not been able to find out what it is. The shrub is about 6 - 8 feet high in full to part sun during the day. In dry soil only being watered by them or rain. The leaves are simple, opposite and slightly toothed. Does anyone have an idea what this plant is?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Possibly Clerodendron ugandense?

Here is a link that might be useful: photo

Yes, I think that's what it is, too. A lot of Houston nurseries frequently have it. Try Buchanan's or Joshua's or Cornelius.
