| Looks like a variety of eastern redbud, Cercis canadensis. Considered a small/medium tree. |

| If it is 'Avondale' (and it certainly looks like it could be - a very heavy bloomer), then it is a species of Cercis chinensis, not siliquastrum - much more shrubby than tree-like. btw, this is very much a southern hemisphere plant, as it was introduced into the trade by Duncan and Davies Nurseries, New Zealand :-) |
