Purple Penstemon?

I got these seeds in a swap and the only info on the packet was "purple penstemon". It doesn't look like any of my other penstemons and I couldn't find anything similar on image searches. Here are pictures of the flowers and leaves. Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Purple Penstemon?

Thanks jaynine! It definitely looks like an obedient plant now that I see the two together. But now I am wondering if it isn't one of the cultivars of the more common P. virginiana. The flowers do look just like P. correllii in the few pictures I could find. But it says that is a rare endangered streamside plant from the south that requires wet soil and gets to be very tall. Where I planted it is in blazing sun and dry soil (thinking it was penstemon), and particularly dry this year with the drought. I will have to keep an eye on it and see if it even comes back next year. Thanks again.
