Just a guess, but it looks like a Tradescantia, perhaps Tradescantia fluminensis.

Thank you, musaboru. I looked up the tradescantia but I can't tell if it is what my plant is. I've uploaded another picture. The leaves are tiny, thick, rubbery feeling and pointed and curved under at the tips. It almost looks vine-like to me.
