Name That Plant!

Strange Looking Sprouts

I have these things sprouting in a woody section of my front yard. I'm guessing that they're a native plant of some type. They have just started coming up in the last couple of weeks. They pull out of the ground easily. I don't know if they're worth keeping or if I should pull them up.

Epifagus americana, beech drops. It is a native that grows exclusively on the roots of beech. Those are the flowering stems. You don't need to pull them up.
