Looks more like Iopmoea than Convolvulus (bindweed).

It's very very frequent in some areas...and one of the few I've never found plants to try to grow (for sale), nor seed pods.

That's odd, some people grow MG's as, like, a religion. TY for the info. Apparently it's a perennial and makes a potato like I. batatas. I may try to get some seeds from it, if I can find it again when they are ripe.

We call that one Wild Potato Vine in this area, and it's pretty common here. It usually flowers from May through September (maybe lasts a little longer in Alabama).
