Weedy Plant with Cascading Flowers

This hairy plant is about 6.5 feet tall, and heavily branched from close to the bottom. Most of the leaves are gone; but, those that remain are similar to those of Urtica dioica (stinging nettle). I couldn't get close enough for detail, but they may be opposite (3rd photo). Those plumes are mostly 8 to 16 inches long.

Verbena urticifolia perhaps.

I sure didn't know that species got so large, but see that's the right i.d. Thanks, lycopus.

Definitely white vervain. It grows in a weedy-fashion at my place and seems to be not as choosey as many plants on conditions. Full sun, partial shade, and full shade - does them all with equal ease. In my experience, it gets bigger/taller with age. Too bad such a resilient plant isn't prettier - the flowers are insignificant and the foliage/form isn't anything special.
