Not "invasive" in the sense of a non-native foreign agressor. Just a generally rambunctious native vining plant. I've got it growing over a hogwire fence at the rear of my property, and as uncouth as this may sounds, it works perfectly as a screen. Deep green luxuriant foliage all summer, wine-red in fall, dark blue fruits.....not a bad-looking outfit. But yes, it will happily climb around and through everything in sight.....if you let it!

A lovely native vine, beneficial to certain butterflies that use them as a host plant, birds love the berries and it has fabulous fall color.

Don't let ken scare anyone off from using this. Understand what you have and integrate it appropriately (or not if you are obsessively tidy like ken).

Esh, do you suppose we could sneak into Ken's garden and feston the whole place (and every hosta) in wafts of transplanted healthy virginia creeper ?
Imagine the look of horror.....
