This is a terrible picture but sent to me by a friend so I can't remedy that! I'm hoping that it jumps out at someone. Photo was taken in the past few days in Kelowna, British Columbia. Thanks!

Tamarix parviflora?

If it is saltcedar, the leaves will be covered with salt crystals. The various species of tamarix are hard to distinguish, but all of them have invasive potential, and several states regulate the import of one or more.

Thanks ladies! I passed the info on to my friend. I think it was a plant she saw while just passing by and it caught her eye.
