Grows in thickets in bright, open, semi-sandy areas. Leaves are 2-3" long & appear silver in mid summer & kind of thick like bay-laurel leaves. Berries in grape-like clusters, medium red, I've seen them a bit orange colored, too. Haven't seen them darker than the color in picture - picture from just four days ago.
