Were the leaves rough or smooth feeling?

I did not touch the leaves, I was on a long hike and this was about the only wildflower I found other than Goldenrods, White Asters and other wore out flowers. This one was fresh and deeper in the woods. I am putting a close up of the leaves which are pubescent as well aas the stems.
