Doesn't look like Coreopsis to me. Can you show the back of the flower?

On second thoughts the seed heads resemble Calendula.

Actually Im thinking of a yellow Bergamot, also in the daisy family.

It doesn't look like Calendula, Leucanthemum vulgare (Ox-eye daisy, which is white) or Bergamot (Monarda) to me. I'm not sure what yellow Bergamot is.

OWTE - pictures of foliage and undamaged flowers would be helpful if you can get some.

There are some large yellow daisies around the block that look like this, about 4-5 feet tall.

Looks like a perennial Sunflower (Helianthus) of some sort to me.
