We had a small yucca in our yard when we moved in many years ago. Kind of ignored it, except when the stem started to get long and fall over, so I decapitated it and stuck the top in the ground. Did this a few times. I now have about five nice sized plants. One of them, on a parking strip where I have other crops growing, and is pretty well irrigated, is blooming this year. I don't think I've ever seen any blooms from these plants before. So this is probably a good time to get a better ID for what is probably a pretty generic yucca. Ideas? I'm pretty clueless about cacti.

Can I assume that the plant isn't going to die when this bloom is done?
