Prostrate Species

These plants were in a golf course collection area that was covered with sand. They were about 6 inches across, with stems to 0.080 inch thick, prostrate, and glabrous. Stem ends had fruit that was surrounded by translucent fibers. The fruit was on short pedicels, with bodies to about 0.4 inch long by 0.065 inch across. There were also some tiny cup-like structures that were open on the top and filled with round, black objects (maybe seeds). You can see two of those cups in the bottom, left quadrant of the second photo.

Maybe some type of Portulaca? P. mundala?

Nice spot, horster. It is either P. mundala (pilosa), or P. halimoides. I'm leaning toward P. halimoides, because the apex of the leaf blades is obtuse (but not sure at this point). In any case, you put me in the right area. Thanks a bunch!
