Zone 7 fading pink flowers on large shrub

The shrub is about 7' tall and covered with these fading pink flowers. I wish I'd noticed it earlier. The individual flowers are very small -- slightly larger than the head of a pin. There was no scent that I could detect, but it was early on a chilly morning.

It looks like the dreaded Japanese knotweed.

It's definitely not that. For one thing, it's huge. For another, the leaves are completely different.

Fallopia joponica, Polygonum cuspidatum! I agree with Carol, it certainly looks like Japanese konotweed.

Japanese Knotweed is huge, johnsaunt, but there is also a Giant Knotweed. Fallopia sachalinensis, and hybrids. I agree with the others.

Here is a link that might be useful: Knotweed leaves

Ooops! My mistake! There's a much smaller plant that I've heard referred to as "Japanese Knotweed" but when I looked up Polygonum cuspidatum, I saw that y'all were right! I guess I won't be trying to root any cuttings!

Thanks!
