What is this plant?

Hi, Have lots of this growing weedlike outside and can't remember what this is. Been surfing the web trying to identify it all day with no luck. The leaves are "velvety" on their tops. Thanks so much for any help.

Yes, perhaps G. maculatum

If it is G. maculatum then you are very fortunate because it is essential for migrating Monarch butterflys to feed on in Spring.
I have been digging them up in the wild and bringing into my landscape.

If you love Monarch butterflies, you should plant Asclepias species.

Those look more like Buttercup leaves to me. Check out Ranunculus acris.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about the geranium either.
