Tiny Prostrate Plants

These tiny plants were prostrate. They were in a heavily shaded area that is always damp. They had clasping leaves alternating along, and perpendicular to, the back of the stems. They also had smaller leaves or bracts alternating along, and parallel to, the front of the stems. No flowers were evident.
