Clearance sale bulb ID

| Hello all,
I found this unmarked plant at a local hardware store (Tyler, Texas) having an end-of-season clearance sale. For scale, it is in a 3 gallon container, so the foliage spread is about 4' wide and the foliage itself is about 2' tall (above the soil). There appear to be two large bulbs in the container, as well as a few tiny ones. The guy working in the nursery department could not remember what it was, but he said it had "blooms like a daylily". It looked nice and healthy, so I decided to take a chance. Any ideas what it might be or at least what family it is in?

Looks more like Agapanthus to me.

I think it looks like some sort of crinum based on the picture on the far left. The bulb itself will be quite large if so - I have some as large as baseballs.

Kari, one picture reminded me of a crinum, but their leaves are shorter and stiffer. I agree with saltcedar that it's probably an agapanthus. Either way, a great find on the clearance table ! patty

Agapanthus isn't a bulb - it has a dense, fleshy root system similar to that of daylilies. A photo of the bulb itself could help with ID, but I'd suspect it to be some sort of Amaryllidaceae.

Thanks for the replies! Some sort of amaryllis was my first thought, but I didn't want to influence any responders. :) Any of the above suggestions would be great addition, so it will be a fun surprise to see what I have next spring/summer. I'll be planting it this week, so I'll get some pictures of what's under the soil then.

My agapanthus has much shorter leaves than those in the picture and my crinums have leaves just like those in the picture. I'll be curious to know exactly what it is - either way I'm sure you'll be happy with it!
