We came across a rather wide sprawling tree today. All the leaves are off as it is autumn. However it is covered in tiny round pink flowers! They are about 1/2 inch in diameter and hang upside down all over the branches and are sort of divided into 4 sections with little red berries in each section I think. The ones I saw have 2 berries for sure and when the berries are ripe they tend to extend out of the flower a bit but then I usually only see one berry in the flower-maybe the others have fallen. This creates a visual mass of pink. I have no idea what this tree is.

Thanks both of you. I had a small plant of this a few years ago, but it didn't survive winter so I never saw it in bloom. Had no idea this was it! I took a few flowers to try from seed, but may get me one in the spring. Very nice!

Coloring of fruits - which is what you are describing, and not flowers - sounds like one such as E. sieboldianus.
