Tree with Berries on Beach

| This small weedy looking tree on the beach in New England had many small berries the size of dimes. What is it? |

| Some sort of Cherry, Prunus species. |

| I think it's some type of crabapple due to the blossom end scar, the leaves, and the shape of the lenticels (those lighter dots) in the bark. |

| I thought it might be a Beach Plum, but the fruit seem too small... |
