| I found this on a hill in Cheltenham (Gloucestershire England). It appeared to be growing through the branch of a bramble bush. I've never seen anything like it before and there was no other plants that looked anything like it in the area. When I first discovered it, it was brightly coloured and fluffy. If anyone could inform me as to what it is I would be very thankful! |

| garden pxie - that is a Robin's pincushion which as carol says is a gall caused by a small wasp. The plant it is on is not a bramble but a dog rose, Rosa canina. Robin's pincushion is actually very common throughout the UK and I bet now you have your eye in you will spot them all over the place. |
