Need Help with this Plant

I found this Attractive Tree in Galveston. This is a small sprig along with the Huge Seed Pod. The tree is rather
smallish, but that doesn't mean it might not get larger - around 8 feet. Small Leaves as shown in the pic.

An unusual feature of the tree was that it was covered in small elongated seed pods around 2 inches in length. It was as if the tree had just finished blooming and had created these.
Then there were these Huge seed pods - Few, but distinctive. These large seed pods seemed an enigma set against this smallish tree.
So there were what appeared 2 different types of seed pods. I realize this is strange.
I don't know if the tree is tropical, but it must have been beautiful covered in blooms.
Thanks to anyone who can ID this from the picture taken and the description I have given.
