Can anyone help me identify this plant?

It's growing in a pot right now. Seems it's going to be a tree. Two flowers came out. The purple center was very hard. Then the flowers fell and it hasn't flowered any more. It seems to need constant watering to keep a pinkish tint at the border of the young leaves.
