Hello, What is this velvety soft plant? Oregon, Portland area. Thank you.

Senecio maritima. Its used in floral bedding displays over here.

Dusty miller (Senecio cineraria) crosses with tansy ragwort (S. jacobaea) to produce an intermediate plant that has been called hybrid dusty miller (S. x albescens). I have seen multiple spontaneous examples growing wild along roads etc. in my area. Very likely the plant shown here is one such. These tend to have foliage like that of the dusty miller but less dramatic - and more prominent, showy flowers, with longer rays, in the manner of the ragwort. The growth habit I have seen is like that of the dusty miller, with most foliage near the ground and the flowerheads on shorter stems than those of the ragwort.

Bboy, Thank you for the information. There is only one such plant growing among ragworts. It would be interesting to see it bloom. Thanks!
